Non-EU nationals are reminded that the Entry/Exit System (EES) is set to begin operations on Oct. 12, 2025.

Key Points:

  • As BAL reported, the European Commission announced that it will progressively roll out the EES over six months at the external borders of 29 European countries starting Oct. 12.
  • The new system will record entry and exit data of non-EU nationals visiting the Schengen Area for short stays.
  • The EES will record biometric data such as fingerprints, facial images and other travel information.
