Brazil | Visa requirement soon in effect

A valid Brazilian visa or eVisa will soon be required for passport holders from Australia, Canada and the United States.

Key Points:

• As BAL reported, the Brazilian government postponed the visa requirement for Australian, Canadian and U.S. nationals last year.
• Effective at midnight on April 10, 2025, these nationals will require a visa to travel to Brazil, regardless of the purpose of travel.

Additional Information: Nationals from these countries do not need to apply for the new eVisa if they already have a valid physical visa. Government officials advise applying for an eVisa for any upcoming travel as soon as possible to avoid travel disruptions that may occur. Employers should be aware of the new eVisa requirement for employees entering Brazil for business purposes.
