Key takeaways: Effective Aug. 1, 2026, eligible Palestinian nationals who are in Canada with temporary resident status and currently hold an open work permit will receive continued access to open work permit extensions. The public policy applies to applications submitted through Dec. 30, 2027. Effective Aug. 1, 2026, eligible Palestinian nationals who arrive in Canada with temporary resident status by Sept. 30, 2027, will receive access to the Canadian education system and labor market, including study permits, work permits and temporary resident permits.
