What is the change? Qatari nationals no longer require a visa to enter Brazil for the purposes of business, tourism or transit.
What does the change mean? Qatari nationals do not need to obtain a visa prior to entering Brazil for up to 90 days within a 12-month period and may conduct business activities on the visa waiver.
Background: Brazil entered into a visa-free agreement with Qatar during Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro’s visit to the country last November.
Analysis & Comments: The visa-free agreement is part of Brazil’s ongoing efforts to liberalize visa requirements. Employers are reminded, however, that employees entering Brazil on a business visacannot work or receive any salary in Brazil.
