France has increased its minimum wage, which impacts the minimum salaries for foreign workers. What does the change mean? Companies should make sure they meet the new salary thresholds for each visa category. Implementation time frame: Visas/permits affected: Salarié en Mission (Intracompany transferee), Salarié Détaché, EU Blue Card, and local hires. Who is affected: Employers hiring and posting foreign employees and assignees in France. Business impact: Companies must budget for the higher salary thresholds. Background: The French minimum wage is set at €1,466.62 per month (€17,599.44 annually). Employers must meet the following gross minimum salaries as well as the equivalent salary of a French worker: Category Gross annual salary Salarié en Mission €26,399.16 Salarié Détaché €17,599.44 EU Blue Card €53,331 Local hires €17,599.44 (or the equivalent of a local hire in the same position, if higher) BAL Analysis: Employers should make sure they are in compliance with all salary requirements.
