The Brazilian government has updated its COVID-19 entry requirements for fully vaccinated travelers.

Key Points:

  • As of Sept. 12, Brazilian and foreign nationals can enter the country if they have proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before departure or proof of a negative PCR or antigen test taken within one day before departure.
  • Proof of vaccination can be a physical or electronic document, and it must show that the individual was vaccinated at least 14 days before departure.
  • Brazilian authorities will not accept proof of previous recovery from COVID-19 as means of entering the country.
  • COVID-19 entry requirements do not apply to children under the age of 12, cargo or transport workers or people affected by humanitarian crises.

Additional Information: Travelers who are unable to receive the COVID-19 vaccine for medical reasons are exempt from the requirement and can enter the country by completing this form.

BAL Analysis: Travel restrictions and entry requirements for Brazil may change with little to no notice. The response to the COVID-19 pandemic continues to develop, and BAL will provide additional updates as information becomes available.
