Immigration News - Global entry, U.S. embassy/consulate, United States United States | March 5 update: US embassy and travel impacts due to ongoing conflict in the Middle East Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) March 5, 2026 BAL is closely monitoring the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East, including recent military actions and related airspace restrictions affecting several countries in the region. These developments have resulted in widespread flight cancellations, suspensions and route diversions by multiple international airlines. Ongoing disruptions to travel corridors may also impact border operations and immigration processing times. Updates as of March 5, 2026: The State Department has set up a 24/7 emergency call-in line for Americans who need consular assistance. Americans are encouraged to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), follow TravelGov on X.com and call or request emergency assistance by completing the State Department’s online crisis intake form. Departure options vary by location, and airspace in several countries remains closed. Certain land routes may also be available where commercial flights are operating. Individuals should continue to monitor the relevant U.S. embassy/consulate websites and X.com. Several U.S. embassies and consulates have suspended routine visa and American Citizen Services (ACS) until further notice. Israel: The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem and the Embassy Branch Office in Tel Aviv have suspended all routine consular services through March 13. Lebanon: The U.S. Embassy in Lebanon will resume limited passport services on an emergency basis and has suspended all routine consular services. Foreign nationals should also reference the relevant government websites of their respective countries for the latest updates.
