The Slovak government approved legislative changes related to the use of electronic services for foreign nationals in various situations.

  • The government approved legislation on the digitization of Electronic Communication with Foreigners processes.
  • The new law will enter into force on Dec. 15, and eligible foreign nationals will be able to use a digital platform for the following immigration services/situations:
    • Renewal of temporary residence
    • Renewal of Blue Card
    • Registration of EU citizens’ residence
    • Applications for residence permits and foreigner passports

Additional Information: The government also updated the policy for applications involving verified invitations. A simple confirmation of a bank balance will now be accepted as opposed to the previous requirement for a bank account statement.
