What is the change? Japan will observe combined public holidays April 29 and May 3-5, known as Golden Week.
What does the change mean? Government offices will be closed and in-country immigration processing will be suspended during the holidays.
Background: Golden Week begins April 29 with Showa Day. Constitution Day is observed on May 3, Greenery Day on May 4, and Children’s Day on May 5. All four are national holidays and government offices will be closed.
BAL Analysis: Employers should plan for the upcoming office closures and, if needed, file time-sensitive applications and notifications before the break.
