The Chilean government has extended its border closure and entry restrictions until at least Aug. 31.

Key Points:

  • Chilean citizens, resident foreigners and non-resident foreigners who are eligible to enter must:
    • Present a negative PCR test conducted within 72 hours before departure.
    • Complete the International Health Passport  within 48 hours of arrival and 14-day health tracking form upon arrival.
    • Quarantine for 10 days.
  • Exceptions to the entry ban include but are not limited to:
    • Chilean nationals and foreign nationals regularly residing in Chile with a valid RUT card or individuals with a pending visa renewal or permanent residency application.
    • Foreign parents or children of Chileans or foreigner residents who enter as tourists.
    • Personnel sent by international organizations to provide humanitarian aid or international cooperation accepted by Chile.
    • Foreigners who have obtained a safe pass to enter the country for business management purposes critical to the country.
  • Chilean citizens and foreign residents in Chile will be allowed to exit the country if they have a valid Mobility Pass and exit the country through the Arturo Merino Benítez Airport, or if they obtain an extraordinary authorization form from the Virtual Police Station.

Additional Information: Citizens and residents regularly living in Chile can choose either a transit hotel or an authorized hotel to carry out their quarantine. Foreign non-residents regularly living in Chile must quarantine in a transit hotel that was booked before the trip began.
