COVID-19: Quarantine requirements reduced

The South Korean government has reduced its quarantine requirements.

Key Points:

• As of Nov. 1, travelers entering the country must undergo a 10-day quarantine instead of a 14-day quarantine unless a quarantine exemption is obtained.
• South Korean nationals and foreigners with long-term visas and residence cards can quarantine at their place of residence instead of a designated facility.
• Travelers entering on visa waiver or a short-term visa must carry out the 10-day quarantine at a designated facility.

Additional Information: Exceptions to the above general rules may apply on a case-by-case basis. A-1, A-2 and A-3 visa holders with negative COVID-19 test results can actively monitor their health instead of quarantining. Such visa holders must submit health status information daily via the Self Diagnosis App. Eligible travelers can apply for a quarantine exemption certificate through this website.
