Immigration News - U.S. embassy/consulate, United States United States | US Embassy UK posts security alert on severe terrorism threat level Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) May 4, 2026 The U.S. Embassy and Consulates in the United Kingdom has posted a security alert following the raising of the national terrorism threat level to “severe” by the U.K. government on April 30 after the recent terrorist attack in the London suburb of Golders Green. Severe threat levels mean a terrorist threat is “highly likely.” A list of cautionary actions and contact information for assistance can be viewed here. At the time of this post, the U.S. State Department has not updated its U.K. travel advisory from Level 2 “exercise increased caution,” though it acknowledges “terrorist groups continue plotting possible attacks in the United Kingdom … with little or no warning and target.” BAL will continue to monitor related developments and provide updates.
