Key takeaways: U.S. passports will transition to a single-sized, 38-page passport book. According to the notice, the new version will be issued “with the release of the next redesign” and replace both the 26-page book and 50-page book options. Planned passport process enhancements forthcoming. The FRN also states that the State Department has planned enhancements to its Online Passport Renewal platform allowing overseas applicants to renew online.
