Immigration News - United States ESTA website to be updated Monday, requiring pending applicants to reapply Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) August 2, 2019 U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will be updating the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) website on Aug. 5. Nationals of 38 countries participating in the Visa Waiver Program who intend to travel to the U.S. without a visa are required to register with ESTA prior to travel. Key points: ESTA applications that are in a pending payment status during the website update will not be processed and will need to be refiled. Travelers are strongly encouraged to submit their ESTA application at the time of booking their trip and no later than 72 hours before departure.
