Work authorization rights improved

Key Points:

• Foreign nationals can now start working in Italy before the Contract of Stay is signed.
• Once an individual receives their work permit (Nulla Osta) and obtains a visa to enter the country, they can begin working, including for:
  • Subordinate and seasonal work.
  • Blue Card holders and intra-corporate transfers.
  • Jobs not limited by immigration quotas.
• Previously, foreign nationals could only begin working in Italy if they had received their work permit, obtained a visa and signed the Contract of Stay.

BAL Analysis: The Italian government no longer requires foreign nationals to sign the Contract of Stay before beginning work in the country to simplify the work authorization process for foreign workers.
