As BAL reported on May 6, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced two proposed rules aimed at attracting and retaining high-skilled immigrants. The first proposed rule would extend work authorization to certain H-4 spouses of H-1B nonimmigrant workers. The second would relax restrictions on employment authorization for other categories of high-skilled immigrants and expand evidentiary criteria for EB-1 outstanding professors and researchers.
