Key Points: As BAL reported, the European Commission announced that it will progressively roll out the EES over six months at the external borders of 29 European countries starting Oct. 12. The new system will record entry and exit data of non-EU nationals visiting the Schengen Area for short stays. The EES will record biometric data such as fingerprints, facial images and other travel information. This alert has been provided by the BAL Global Practice Group.
