Immigration News - Brazil Visa requirements to be reinstated for Australia, Canada, Japan, US Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) March 17, 2023 IMPACT — MEDIUM The Brazilian government has announced that it will reinstate visa requirements for nationals of Australia, Canada, Japan and the United States. Key Points: Beginning Oct. 1, 2023, nationals of Australia, Canada, Japan and the United States must apply for visitor visas to enter the country. Previously, nationals of the aforementioned countries were allowed to travel to Brazil without obtaining visitor visas since March 16, 2019. Australia, Canada, Japan and the United States have all reinstated visitor visa requirements for Brazilian nationals; as a general rule, Brazil does not grant visitor visa exemption without reciprocity. Additional Information: Brazilian authorities stated that they are open to negotiating visa exemption agreements with Australia, Canada, Japan and the United States on mutual bases.
