Immigration News - Brazil, Japan Brazil, Japan agree on visa exemption Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) August 16, 2023 IMPACT — MEDIUM The governments of Brazil and Japan agreed to reciprocally exempt their passport holders from obtaining visitor visas for short-term stays. Key Points: Citizens of Brazil and Japan will be permitted to mutually visit the other country for up to 90 days without obtaining a visitor visa. The exemption goes into effect on Sept. 30 and will be valid for three years. Additional Information: Brazil will reinstate visitor visa requirements for nationals of Australia, Canada and the United States on Oct. 1. Brazil had previously included Japan in these measures but removed the country after renegotiating their mutual visa exemption policy.
