Immigration News - Brazil COVID-19: Immigration deadlines extended Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) September 1, 2021 IMPACT – MEDIUM The Brazilian government extended its immigration deadlines and emergency COVID-19 health measures until March 15, 2022. Key Points: Foreign nationals whose immigration documents expired after March 16, 2020, have until March 15, 2022, to obtain or register permanent residence or a temporary visa. Foreign nationals will not be penalized for an excess of stay or a delay in registration if they complete the registration before March 15, 2022. Passports, identification documents and criminal background certificates issued abroad that expire after March 16, 2020, will be accepted in the immigration process as long as the individual remained a resident of Brazil and seeks to become regularized by March 15, 2022.
