The Department of Home Affairs announced that the 2025-26 Pacific Engagement Visa (PEV) ballots are open for Pacific Island and Timor-Leste nationals.

  • The PEV is a permanent residency visa allowing Pacific Island and Timor-Leste nationals to live, work and study in Australia.
  • To apply for the PEV, eligible applicants must first register in the preapplication ballot by Aug. 25, 2025.
  • The 2025-26 program holds 3,000 potential places for citizens of the following countries:
    • Federated States of Micronesia
    • Fiji
    • Kiribati
    • Nauru
    • Palau
    • Papua New Guinea
    • Samoa
