IMPACT – MEDIUM
What is the change? Azerbaijan has made changes to business visas, including the introduction of a one-year multiple-entry visa whose maximum stay is 180 days.
What does the change mean? Business travelers will not have to apply for visas as frequently, as the maximum stay for the one-year visa has been lengthened from 90 days to 180 days.
Background: This new visa replaces the former one-year multiple-entry visa that allowed maximum stays of 90 days. Travelers may still apply for single-entry visas for visits of 30 or 90 days.
All visa applicants must now file a new form that includes information about the purpose of travel, financing of travel and local contact information while in Azerbaijan. The inviting entity’s stamp and signature should be included on this form.
BAL Analysis: The addition of the 180-day duration will ease procedures for frequent business travelers who will not have to apply for entry visas as often.
