Taiwanese authorities have required certain foreign nationals to be vaccinated against polio to enter or leave Taiwan.

Key Points:

  • Foreign nationals applying for Taiwanese visas must submit proof that they have been vaccinated against polio if they have lived in or visited one of the following countries for more than four weeks in the past year:
    • Afghanistan.
    • Democratic Republic of the Congo.
    • Israel.
    • Madagascar.
    • Malawi.
    • Mozambique.
    • Pakistan.
  • Applicants must provide their International Certificates of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (Yellow Book) issued by a hospital or healthcare professional with their polio vaccinations recorded as proof.

BAL Analysis: Individuals who are traveling from one of the aforementioned countries should ensure they are vaccinated against polio to avoid delays or complications when applying for visas to enter Taiwan.
