Changes within the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) are expected to cause temporary slowdowns in the processing of work permit applications. Specifically, the changes include the June 11 appointment of David Paradang as the new Comptroller General of Immigration, as well as the retirement of several key NIS officers. All of this has led to a reassigning of positions and restructuring of the organization, likely resulting in processing changes and possible delays.

Normal processing activities should resume next week. BAL will keep clients informed of any further developments regarding processing times and procedures as more information becomes available.
