IMPACT — MEDIUM

The Omani government relaxed its entry rules for residents of Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

Key Points:

  • As of Oct. 26, residents of GCC countries can enter Oman without a visa for commercial and business purposes.
  • To qualify for visa-free entry, GCC residents’ identity cards must have at least three months’ validity from their arrival date in Oman.
  • GCC residents do not need to travel from a GCC country to enter Oman without a visa; GCC residents are allowed to enter Oman from any third country without a visa.
  • An individual who is a resident of a GCC country but is a national of a country on the restricted nationality list will qualify for visa-free entry.

BAL Analysis: The Omani government relaxed its entry rules for GCC residents to streamline entry processes and help stimulate its economy. GCC residents can now travel to Oman for business or commercial activities more easily.
