The Italian government has launched its new immigration website for work permit applications.

Key Points:

  • As of May 16, foreign nationals can submit work permit applications through this website.
  • Those who are applying for work permits must now upload all required documents before filing. Previously, applicants were permitted to provide documentation after submitting the online application.
  • Processing and appointment delays may persist due to technical difficulties within the new website.
  • Immigration offices around the country, including most offices in Florence, Milan, Rome and Torino, have canceled their appointments until further notice.

Additional Information: From April 22 to May 15, individuals were not able to submit work permit or family clearance applications due to the release of the new immigration website.

BAL Analysis: Employers and employees are encouraged to plan ahead and file time-sensitive applications as soon as possible to minimize processing delays. Individuals should contact Italian authorities for more information regarding what services may be delayed at local offices.
