IMPACT – MEDIUM

The Canadian government has resumed random, on-arrival COVID-19 testing for fully vaccinated air travelers.

Key Points:

  • As of July 19, fully vaccinated travelers entering the country through the Calgary International Airport, Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport or Vancouver International Airport may be randomly selected for on-arrival COVID-19 testing.
  • Travelers will receive an email, including information on how to schedule a COVID-19 test, within 15 minutes of completing their customs declaration if they have been selected for on-arrival testing.
  • The testing will be completed outside the airport via an in-person appointment or a virtual appointment with a self-administered test.

Additional Information: Travelers continue to be required to use ArriveCAN within 72 hours before arrival. More information regarding Canada’s border measures and entry requirements is available here. Individuals can check if they qualify as fully vaccinated in Canada here.
