Taiwan | Entry restrictions and visa control measures implemented in response to Ebola outbreak

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Taiwan is implementing entry restrictions and visa control measures on residents of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda in response to the Ebola disease outbreak in these countries.

Key takeaways:

These measures are in effect for a period of 90 days, starting from June 2, 2026. Visa issuance to residents of the DRC and Uganda is suspended and individuals from these countries who have already obtained visas will be denied entry into Taiwan.

The measures do not apply to:

  • Admitted degree students
  • Personnel on diplomatic or official business
  • Spouses and minor children of Taiwanese nationals
  • Visitors traveling for emergency or humanitarian reasons
