Margret Ann Morrison

Senior Associate // San Francisco

TEST

“As a first-generation immigrant from the Philippines, my parents’ example of determination and hard work, and their belief that America is where they could achieve their dreams, inspire me today.”

Margret is a Senior Associate in our San Francisco office. She manages a legal team and handles nonimmigrant visa issues for employees of one of the world’s largest online travel corporations with nearly 15,000 employees.

Margret is particularly skilled at overcoming obstacles and objections from government agencies, assisting people whose visa status has lapsed by making winning arguments to get the employees back into status. She has a strong record of success—with the USCIS accepting her arguments and back-dating visa approvals, avoiding negative consequences for her client’s employees.

Prior to joining BAL, Margret served as an associate with a small immigration law firm in the Silicon Valley, where she practiced a broad range of immigration matters, including family and employment-based immigration applications. She also previously worked for international organizations focused on human rights, transitional justice, and human trafficking issues.

Margret is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and has been named by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star.

Margret stays connected to her community through her church by serving on its board and actively volunteering in its outreach programs, which include assisting the homeless in San Francisco.
