COVID-19: Borders measures to be updated

The Chilean government has announced it will update its border measures on Dec. 1.

Entry Restrictions:

• Foreign nationals can enter the country if they have:
  • Validated their vaccination status on this website.
  • Submitted a health affidavit.
  • Proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure.
  • Medical insurance covering at least $30,000 (Spanish nationals exempt).
• Nonresident foreign nationals who have a valid Mobility Pass can enter the country through the airports in Antofagasta, Iquique, Punta Arenas and Santiago and the border crossings of Chalculluta, Colchane and Pino Hachado.
• Travelers who have received a COVID-19 booster shot within six months and who have a valid Mobility Pass are exempt from the quarantine and PCR testing requirements in Chile upon arrival.
• Travelers who do not have their vaccination validated must complete a five-day quarantine and undergo PCR testing upon arrival.

Exit Restrictions:

• Authorities will lift all restrictions for leaving the country regardless of nationality, age or vaccination status on Dec. 1.

Additional Information: Exemptions to the border measures include but are not limited to: transit travelers, dependent children of a Chilean national or resident entering the country as tourists, and foreign nationals entering the country for business management purposes that cannot be postponed. Children under the age of two are not subject to testing requirements. Children under the age of six years must complete a five-day quarantine when entering the country.
