Immigration News - France New seconded and posted worker requirements Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) September 6, 2019 IMPACT – MEDIUM What is the change? The online posted worker notification system (SIPSI) no longer allows posts exceeding six months, requiring companies to re-submit online registrations after the initial six-month period is up. What does the change mean? Companies will be limited to registering seconded workers for a maximum of six months when registering online through SIPSI. After the initial six months, they will have to reregister seconded workers every six months until the end of their secondment. Effective date: Immediate and ongoing. Who is affected: Companies sponsoring posted/seconded workers. Background: On June 4, France introduced several changes that affected the declaration of secondment and appointment of a representative for foreign workers and began overhauling SIPSI. The recent development, which limits initial seconded worker registrations to six months, is part of the system overhaul and aims to prevent companies from registering workers for periods longer than their actual stay. Analysis & Comments: To ensure compliance with the new rule, companies must extend the period of stay for seconded workers through SIPSI after the initial six months and for every six months thereafter.
