Immigration News - Taiwan COVID-19: Visa-exempt entry reinstated for certain countries Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) September 14, 2022 IMPACT – MEDIUM Taiwanese authorities have reinstated visa-exempt entry for foreign national of certain countries. Key Points: As of Sept. 12, nationals of Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the U.K., the U.S. and countries in the Schengen Area no longer need a visa when traveling to Taiwan. Visa-exempt travelers can stay in Taiwan for up to 90 days without needing a visa for tourism and business purposes, among other reasons. Visa-exempt foreign nationals must have at least six months of validity remaining on their passport to enter Taiwan. Visa-exempt foreign nationals must have proof they booked round tickets to enter and depart Taiwan within 90 days. A full list of countries eligible for visa-exempt entry is available here. Additional Information: Canadian and U.K. nationals are able to extend their stay in Taiwan for up to 180 days. Taiwan’s quarantine policies remain in place at this time.
