Labor Department updates prevailing wage processing times

The Labor Department has posted processing times as of Oct. 1 for prevailing wage determination (PWD) requests.

• PWD processing: The National Prevailing Wage Center is processing requests for prevailing wage determinations filed in June 2016 and earlier for H-1B and PERM cases. Redeterminations are being considered on appeals filed in June 2016 and earlier for PERM cases and July 2016 or earlier for H-1B cases. Center Director Reviews are being conducted on appeals filed in August 2016 for H-1B and PERM cases.
• PERM processing: Processing times as of Oct. 1 for permanent labor certification (PERM) applications were posted last week. According to those processing times, the agency is processing analyst reviews for PERM applications filed in July 2016 and earlier. Audit reviews are being conducted on applications filed in February 2016 and earlier, and appeals filed in August 2016 and earlier are being reviewed for reconsideration. The processing queue is current for cases that have been appealed because of government error.

BAL Analysis: BAL’s internal case tracking is consistent with the Labor Department processing times. BAL is seeing approvals for PERM applications filed in July 2016 or earlier and awaiting prevailing wage determinations for requests filed in June 2016.
