"I enjoy tackling clients’ complex and often fraught challenges. By helping them identify and implement solutions that meet their compliance and strategic objectives, everyone may sleep a little bit better — this is one of the most satisfying aspects of my job."
Sue is a Partner in BAL’s Dallas office and serves as the firm’s general counsel, overseeing BAL’s legal and ethical compliance. She also leads the firm’s pro bono committee, championing pro bono services provided by BAL attorneys. Sue’s immigration practice is focused on helping companies build smart, forward-thinking immigration programs that align with business goals and support employees throughout their journey. She partners with clients on strategic program design, merger and acquisition implications and immigration compliance. Before joining BAL, Sue honed her immigration expertise at a boutique firm in Southern California and a full-service firm in San Francisco. Earlier in her career, she practiced labor and employment law, edited a labor and employment newsletter and taught labor relations at a small college, bringing a well-rounded perspective to her work today. Sue is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and has earned recognition in The Best Lawyers in America every year since 2007. When she’s not advising clients, you’ll find her working on her vegetable garden, planning a trip or relaxing with her growing menagerie of pets.
