Maria is an Associate in BAL’s New York office. She supports immigrant and nonimmigrant employment-based visa needs for corporate clients in the financial sector, investors and entrepreneurs. Maria brings a wide range of immigration experience, having served in various supervisory and counsel capacities prior to BAL. She has vast experience processing complex cases for H-1B/H-1B1/H-3, L-1A/L-1B, E-1/E-2, O-1, TN, J-1 and their dependent matters. She also has successful experience with the PERM labor certification process and immigrant petitions across the EB-1, EB-2 and EB-3 preference base categories. Maria also has expertise in family-based cases and immigration defense and removal work, as well as processing inadmissibility waivers, J-1 Interested Government Agency, Conrad 30 and no-objection waivers. A former F-1 international student and now a proud citizen of the United States, Maria is passionate about helping F-1 and J-1 international students through their immigration journeys. In her free time, Maria loves spending time with her son and her husband, as well as their two rescue dogs, Fiona and Lizzie. Maria is passionate about animal rights and preservation and often supports rescue shelters and initiatives in the tri-state area and South Korea.
