Kate is an Associate in the Houston office of BAL. She advises clients on various aspects of employment-based immigration across a range of industries, with a focus on both nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters.

Kate has over a decade of experience practicing immigration law with expertise in family-based immigration and humanitarian benefits, including removal defense and the overlap of criminal law and immigration law. Throughout her career, she has given presentations and trainings on immigration law and benefits to corporate attorneys, government officials, legal services advocates and community groups.

Prior to joining BAL, Kate worked with several large nonprofit organizations representing clients pursuing a wide variety of immigration benefits and led an innovative project to reunify vulnerable Central American children with their lawfully present parents in the United States. She has also advised immigration judges on complex legal issues as an attorney advisor at the Executive Office for Immigration Review at the U.S. Department of Justice. Kate is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
