Cheryl works in BAL’s Chicago office as a Senior Associate. Her practice focuses on managing all aspects of employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant cases for multinational corporations across various industries. She also provides strategic guidance in corporate acquisitions and restructuring, reductions in force and successor-in-interest scenarios, as well as ancillary employment immigration matters such as I-9 compliance, E-Verify, DOL audits and government site visits. Cheryl is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and currently serves on the Chicago chapter’s CLE committee, as well as the Chicago District Director Liaison Committee. During law school, her student note was published in the Chicago-Kent Journal of International and Comparative Law, where she served as Articles Editor. She also served as a judicial extern for Judge Der-Yeghiayan at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and completed a one-year legal externship in the Office of the Chief Counsel of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), where she gained invaluable experience in the most complex areas of immigration.
