Key Points: Notice on proposal to collect social media identifiers on immigration forms The proposal complies with section 2 of President Trump’s executive order directive to enhance vetting and screening across agencies. The new initiative would focus on gathering social media identifiers (or “handles”) and associated social media platform names from immigration applicants. The 60-day public comment period will be open until May 5, 2025. Notice on proposal to use a new clearance process to collect certain data on immigration forms The proposed new collection process also complies with President Trump’s enhanced vetting directive to better enables USCIS to assess eligibility for an immigration-related benefit. The notice states the data will be used to validate an applicant’s identity and determine if the applicant poses a security or public-safety risk to the U.S. The 60-day public comment period will be open until May 2, 2025. Notice on extended comment period for proposed revision of medical form collection process On Nov. 14, 2024, USCIS originally published a notice for public comments on a proposed revision to the information collection process for the I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. The public comment period has been extended an additional 30 days and will remain open until April 4, 2025.
