Immigration News - Global entry, Government agency updates, Trump travel ban, United States United States | Ebola outbreak update: CDC extends entry ban, expands screening requirements Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) August 13, 2026 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued updated measures effective Aug. 12, 2026, to help reduce the risk of Ebola importation into the United States. The measures accompany the CDC’s Aug. 12 order extending for 30 days the suspension of entry for certain foreign nationals who were recently present in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Uganda or South Sudan. U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals who have recently been present in Uganda or South Sudan (but not in DRC) will be routed through designated U.S. airports for enhanced public health screening. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection website currently identifies the following commercial airports as designated ports of entry for persons who have recently traveled from DRC, Uganda or South Sudan: Washington-Dulles International Airport (IAD) Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) Additional information: The CDC issued the initial order on May 18, 2026, amended it on May 22 and last extended the suspension on July 21.
