Immigration News - Global Mobility, Taiwan Taiwan | New online Taiwan Arrival Card launched to streamline immigration clearance Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) October 8, 2025 The National Immigration Agency (NIA) in Taiwan announced a new online Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC), replacing paper-based arrival cards, effective Oct. 1, 2025. The new system streamlines traveler immigration clearance by electronically recording and retrieving TWAC data. Key Points: Foreign travelers must complete the TWAC form on the official TWAC website within three days before arrival. The TWAC must be completed entirely online and is free of charge. The TWAC is mandatory before immigration clearance and entry processing. The TWAC applies to: Foreign nationals entering Taiwan with a visitor visa or under Taiwan’s visa exemption program Hong Kong and Macao residents holding a multiple-entry permit Mainland Chinese residents holding a multiple-entry tourist permit Taiwan nationals without household registration who do not hold a Resident Certificate QR codes are posted at airline and seaport check-in counters for travelers to complete the TWAC form on-site.
