COVID-19: Arrival quota increased, entry requirements eased

Taiwanese authorities have increased their weekly arrival quota and announced that they will ease Taiwan’s COVID-19 entry requirements.

Key Points:

• As of July 7, Taiwanese authorities will allow 40,000 international arrivals per week instead of 25,000.
• Beginning July 14, Republic of China (R.O.C.) nationals, Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) holders and transit passengers will no longer be required to have a negative PCR test result taken within two delays before departure to enter Taiwan.
• Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 while abroad cannot fly to Taiwan for seven days.

Additional Information: Upon arrival in Taiwan, travelers must continue to quarantine for three days at home or in a quarantine hotel and complete self-health management for an additional four days after the mandatory quarantine ends.
