Immigration News - Employment-based visas, Global mobility, Asia-Pacific, South Korea South Korea | Seasonal Worker Program adding more staff from abroad Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) June 27, 2025 The Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced that the Seasonal Worker Program (SWP) will add over 22,000 additional staff from abroad in the second half of the year. Key Points: The council reviewing the assignments of SWP personnel decided to add 22,731 workers to the program to alleviate labor shortages in rural areas, starting in July. The government will recruit language communication assistants from abroad to support SWP workers. The increase in SWP workers results in a 41% increase over last year’s total number of SWP workers.
