COVID-19: South Korea to lift quarantine for fully vaccinated residents

The South Korean government has announced a new exemption to the mandatory two-week quarantine for fully vaccinated residents starting May 5.

Key Points:

• Fully vaccinated residents will no longer undergo a mandatory two-week quarantine if they are returning from overseas travel or have been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient.
• The new exemption will not apply to:
  • Fully vaccinated residents arriving from South Africa, Brazil or other nations where COVID-19 variants are prevalent.
  • Residents who were vaccinated in a foreign country.
