Immigration News - Slovakia Slovakia | Legislation related to digitization approved Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) December 12, 2024 The Slovak government approved legislative changes related to the use of electronic services for foreign nationals in various situations. Key Points: The government approved legislation on the digitization of Electronic Communication with Foreigners processes. The new law will enter into force on Dec. 15, and eligible foreign nationals will be able to use a digital platform for the following immigration services/situations: Renewal of temporary residence Renewal of Blue Card Registration of EU citizens’ residence Applications for residence permits and foreigner passports Additional Information: The government also updated the policy for applications involving verified invitations. A simple confirmation of a bank balance will now be accepted as opposed to the previous requirement for a bank account statement. BAL Analysis: The government is making legislative changes to facilitate faster and easier communication. The goal of the new law is to expedite administrative procedures related to residence, streamline registration of EU citizens’ residence and simplify submission of electronic applications for residence permits or foreigner passports.
