Reminder: ‘CorpPass’ deadline coming soon Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) November 22, 2017 IMPACT – HIGH What is the change? Companies are reminded that the Ministry of Manpower has set a December deadline for all companies to switch to Singapore Corporate Access, or CorpPass, when using Employment Pass Online or conducting other business transactions with the government. CorpPass will replace the current SingPass login. What does the change mean? MOM is urging companies to register with CorpPass as part of the authorities’ drive to protect both personal and business information. While MOM has not given a precise date by which companies must switch to CorpPass (saying only that it will become mandatory in December), BAL recommends that companies assume that the deadline is Dec. 1 to minimize the risk of breaks in service. Implementation time frame: Between now and Dec. 1. Who is affected: Employment Pass Online administrators and users who are granted individual access to the portal. Impact on processing times: Using Employment Pass Online saves significant time in performing employment pass and S-Pass related transactions (applying, checking status, issuing, renewing and canceling passes). Next steps: Companies may register for a CorpPass account on this website. Background: MOM launched the use of CorpPass for companies using Employment Pass Online earlier this year. The ministry said in May that CorpPass would become mandatory for companies using Employment Pass Online and would replace SingPass for business transactions with the government. After the switch in December, SingPass will only be available for use by individuals and can no longer be used for business transactions. BAL Analysis: Companies should create a CorpPass account as soon as possible if they have not already done so. This alert has been provided by the BAL Global Practice group in Singapore.
