Immigration News - Norway COVID-19: Non-essential travel advice to be lifted Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) September 28, 2021 The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that it will lift its recommendation against non essential travel after Oct. 1. Key Points: Beginning Oct. 1, Norway will return to assessing non essential travel recommendations on a case-by-case basis. The Norwegian government will post a list of countries for which travel recommendations will apply after Oct. 1 on this website. More information on travel restrictions and advice can be found on the new Norwegian government travel app, Reiseklar (Travel Ready). Additional Information: Travel restrictions against non essential travel have been in place since March 2020. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ recommendation is not mandatory and is not a ban on travel; however, travel insurance may not be honored if the individuals do not follow the advisory warnings. BAL Analysis: The Norwegian government is lifting restrictions on non-essential travel as part of its gradual reopening.
