Immigration News - Global mobility, Permanent Residency, Europe, Netherlands Netherlands | Application updates for residence permits Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) April 16, 2026 The Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) recently implemented changes to applications for two residence permits in the Netherlands. Provisional residence permit application Effective April 1, 2026, applicants may submit provisional residence permit (MVV) applications without an MVV issue form. As of March 2, 2026, approved MVV applications no longer required an MVV issue form at the Dutch representation abroad. IND continued processing applications submitted before March 2, 2026, with an MVV issue form. The agency expected to complete processing these applications during the transition period through March 31, 2026. Highly skilled migrant permit application The online application for renewing the highly skilled migrant permit no longer requires filing the worker’s specific salary information. According to IND, applicants will self-declare the following when applying for a permit renewal, acknowledging that: The highly skilled migrant meets the applicable salary criterion The salary is in line with the market The salary is transferred to a bank account in the highly skilled migrant’s name, and the payment is made within one month The new form does not affect the rights and obligations of recognized sponsors.
