Immigration News - Colombia Migration Department warns of email scam Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) May 8, 2018 IMPACT – MEDIUM Colombia’s Migration Authority has published an alert warning of false emails that appear to be sent from the department. In an attempt to gain personal information, the scam messages falsely state that court proceedings have been opened against the recipient and that he or she may not leave the country. These emails are fake and should be deleted. Reminders: Recipients are reminded that the Colombian Migration Authority never notifies individuals of this type of information through email. Anyone who has received an email matching this description should delete it before any attachments are opened or downloaded. BAL Analysis: Email, phone and web scams are common around the world.
