Work permit application website launched, delays persist Share this article LinkedIn Facebook X (Twitter) May 19, 2022 The Italian government has launched its new immigration website for work permit applications. Key Points: As of May 16, foreign nationals can submit work permit applications through this website. Those who are applying for work permits must now upload all required documents before filing. Previously, applicants were permitted to provide documentation after submitting the online application. Processing and appointment delays may persist due to technical difficulties within the new website. Immigration offices around the country, including most offices in Florence, Milan, Rome and Torino, have canceled their appointments until further notice. Additional Information: From April 22 to May 15, individuals were not able to submit work permit or family clearance applications due to the release of the new immigration website. BAL Analysis: Employers and employees are encouraged to plan ahead and file time-sensitive applications as soon as possible to minimize processing delays. Individuals should contact Italian authorities for more information regarding what services may be delayed at local offices. This alert has been provided by the BAL Global Practice group.
