Italy institutes border checks ahead of G7 summit

What is the change? Italy has instituted temporary border checks as a security measure ahead of the G7 summit in Taormina, which will be held May 26 and 27.

What does the change mean? Border checks have been implemented at Italian points of entry. Travelers should carry proper identification and prepare for delays when entering Italy from now through May 30.

Background: Italian authorities announced last week that Schengen Area rules would be temporarily suspended as a safety measure for the upcoming G7 summit and related events.
